Isaiah 58:1-14

Richard John Neuhaus, Death on a Friday Afternoon:

Of course, that is not a new idea with Neuhaus:

• Moses articulated the point millennia ago in Deuteronomy 7:_______.

Mark it well—Isaiah 58 makes it powerfully clear that "it is a fearful thing to be chosen" (Neuhaus):

• To be a people who believe in the Day of Atonement/Judgment's "cleansing of the sanctuary."
• To be a people who believe and revere the Creator's seventh-day Sabbath.
• To be a people who are called by God "My people."

In Isaiah 58 God clearly outlines two ways in which His people are to become The Repairers of the Breach:
